Our Story

Luz's Healing Hooves

My Grandmother, Luz Zazueta loved this country and from a young age as a Mexican American, instilled a deep pride for this country and those who serve it in all capacities. As we all do, this can be a vital step in helping heal these service men and women from the experiences they have endured while keeping us safe. By honoring her, Luz's Healing Hooves was formed and our mission is to empower and heal active duty, veterans, first responders and their families through the transformative connection between horses and humans.

Our Mission

At Luz’s Healing Hooves, our mission is to empower and heal members of the military community and first responders through the transformative connection between humans and horses. We are dedicated to providing equine-assisted services and support that enhance the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of those who have sacrificed so much for our safety, security and ultimately, our country.  Through a combination of skilled equine-assisted services and compassionate guidance, we empower our participants to overcome physical and emotional challenges, fostering resilience, and a path to a brighter future. Our commitment is to honor and serve those who have sacrificed for our well-being, helping them find a sense of peace and purpose as they embark on their journey toward healing and wholeness. Together, with the help of our equine partners, we ride the journey of recovery, one hoofbeat at a time, in service to those who have served us.
